Each Swanson Lutein softgel contains 4 mg of lutein derived from marigold extract. Lutein is a macular carotenoid, and macular carotenoids play an important role in eye health by protecting the retina from high-energy blue light damage from sunlight and electronic devices such as smartphones and laptops. In the human body, lutein is primarily concentrated in the macula, the yellow area in the center of the retina. Lutein helps protect the retina from blue light damage and oxidative stress. Diet and dietary supplements are two ways to increase lutein intake.

Suggested Use
As a dietary supplement, take one softgel per day with food and water.
