Amaranth, like buckwheat and quinoa, is one of the few plant-based sources that offers a complete amino acid profile, making it a rare complete protein plant source. It's naturally gluten-free and a good source of fiber. Our Organic Amaranth has a mild, yet sweet and nutty flavor that's great as a hot cereal or in baked goods and granola.

Cooking Instructions:

1 cup NOW Real Food® Organic Amaranth
2 1/2 cups Water

Rinse organic amaranth thoroughly under cold water.
Combine amaranth and water in a saucepan.
Bring to a boil and cover tightly.
Reduce heat to low and simmer amaranth for 20 minutes or until fluffy and water is absorbed.

*Tip: If you would like to turn this mixture into amaranth porridge, add an additional 1/2 cup water and cook for another 10 minutes.

Ingredients: Organic Whole Grain Amaranth.
