What is immunity?

Immunity is like a vast and organized "disease defense system" within the body. A human body is like a country, and the disease defense system is like a country's national security system. To eliminate any substances harmful to the country, various different units are established to implement different strategies and methods to eliminate unsafe factors. It is an extremely complex and dynamic system.
When the human body is healthy, the immune system detects various pathogens and harmful substances such as bacteria, viruses, and parasites, eliminating or isolating these substances and organisms that are harmful to human health. In addition, immunity also handles senescent, damaged, dead, and mutated self-cells in the body, eliminating these abnormal cells to maintain self-safety.

The immune system is not stronger the better

Immunity can be said to be the body's first line of defense, and the quality of immunity is inextricably linked to overall health. The elderly and children are often groups with weaker immunity, so special attention should be paid to their health. However, a stronger immune system is not always better; an overactive immune system can lead to autoimmune diseases. Therefore, the immune system is not about being as strong as possible, but rather about being just right.

Good defense helps reduce the chance of germ invasion

In Hong Kong, many people suffer from chronic damage to their bodies due to work stress, poor lifestyle habits, or unhealthy diets. Over time, their immunity may become unbalanced, giving germs a chance to invade!

Overview of Vitamin Series Functions

  • Vitamin A: Maintains the mucous membranes of the first line of defense to prevent bacteria and viruses from entering the body.
  • Vitamin B complex: Produces antibodies and helps immune cells divide rapidly.
  • Vitamin C: Stimulates the body to produce interferons to destroy viruses and secrete thyroid hormones to accelerate the activity of T cells that defend the body.
  • Vitamin D: Strengthens the innate immune system and moderates inflammatory responses.
  • Vitamin E: Helps in antibody production and T-cell activity to eliminate viruses, bacteria, and cancer cells.
  • Copper: Related to the maturation of red blood cells, lymphocytes, and neutrophils. If insufficient, the body's production of T cells will decrease, and the ability of neutrophils to kill germs will also be reduced.
  • Magnesium: Affects the development, function, and distribution of immune cells.
  • Zinc: Regulates proteins that replicate genes, allowing cells to replicate normally.
  • Selenium: Enhances the ability of immune B cells and antibodies.
  • Iron: In the human body, it produces hemoglobin, red blood cells, transports oxygen, and generates heat.

Finally, everyone must remember that maintaining a balanced diet and appropriate exercise are the main factors in maintaining good health!
